Blake uses the chimney sweepers to expose how society ignores suffering. Reflect on a time when you noticed someone being treated unfairly or saw a situation that didn’t seem right. How does this experience connect to the emotions or ideas expressed in one or both poems?

One time at work a homeless man entered. He asked if there were any extra burgers or extra food we could spare. My coworker immediately was disrespectful and dismissive. The man looked defeated and began to walk out. Customers around began to stare. Just as he publicly embarrassed this man I publicly held him accountable. My boss agreed with me and before he could fully leave we gifted the man a burger. In the poem though the boy knew it was wrong yet accepted his fate and didn't attempt to stand up for himself. The man did the same thing until he was finally blessed.
