Prompt: Cities can also be an important part of a person’s cultural identity, shaping their values, experiences, and way of life. Think of a movie or TV show that changed the way you see a specific city. How was that city and its culture portrayed, and did it present a full picture or a “single story”? Explain how this portrayal could influence how people view those who live there.

The tv show “Insecure” is based in Los Angeles. The characters in this show went through many different phases but within these phases they went to many different parts of the city. This helped me better understand the various places the city holds and how there is a place for everyone there depending on the part. Due to its diverse parts , it didnt represent a single story but did represent its many different areas of comfort. This could convince someone who feels out of place in their own city to explore LA and find there place of fitting.
