Prompt: Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

Every year me and my mother would have thanksgiving at my uncles house. These past few years we've grown apart and my mother and I have had thanksgiving at home. Given she knows i don't eat pork and don't like turkey , she made this phenomenal pot roast. The meat was perfect, the sauce was proportionate, the carrots were soft and the potatoes were delicious. Everything just perfect and had me counting down for the next thanksgiving.  Today we read a few letters of the color purple and took and short group test.

Prompt: As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?

In middle school i had this one teacher that i respected greatly and loved. I started to realize more and more how much of a liat she was and it made me respect her less. Me knowing she’s was ok with willingly lying didn't sit right with me and still doesn't. It also made me feel as if she didn't take me nor her other students seriously due to how easy it seemed lying came to her, even of it was about little things. Today we read the book the color purple and answered some questions about a few letters.

Prompt: These letters show how Celie learns from the people around her, even in small ways. Think of someone in your life who influences you in a positive, everyday way—a friend, relative, teacher, or teammate. Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life.

My mom influences me in the best ways possible.Though shes not perfect, my whole life shes built my character to be a resilient, honest young woman. She has taught me to defend myself and character all the while respecting others and their voice. She has also taught me one of my best abilities which is to coexist with those i don't care for.  Today we read the book the Color purple and continued our Adobe visual presentation project.  TODAYS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Prompt: Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

I attempted to bring my expressive letter to life by adding emotional clips. my letter is the opening of the book and was very eye catching and sad. I used Adobe express to help the visualizer get a better gist on how Celie might of felt.  Today we read the book and started our Adobe express visual presentation project.

Prompt: After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles.

After reading the first five letters of The Color purple, the rawness and vulnerability in her voice struck me. The simplicity of her language usage emphasizes her pain and harsh realities shes facing. Though its tough almost witnessing her pain and struggle theres a mix of resilience and sorrow. The writing style makes you feel the emotions of the text , all while knowing this is based on real people and experiences.

Prompt: Tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

My favorite word is “Ok.” Ok is such a neutral word yet can send a message. In some situations “Ok” can show uninterest or unsatisfactory. In other instances “Ok” can mean acceptance or approval. Though its seems to be a normal two letter word, “Ok” has a variety of intentions. I use “Ok” everyday and plenty of times a day.

Prompt: Before the Civil War, most people saw nothing wrong with children working long hours. Over time, people began to see it as unfair and even cruel. What is something that society once accepted but now sees as wrong, or something we still accept today that might be viewed as wrong in the future? Explain your reasonin

Back then women were only to cook, clean , and care for the children. That was considered the norm to the extent where if you were a woman doing anything other than whats expected you were put in a bad category. Today, women have grown to be more independent, reliable, and self sufficient. More and more opportunities open up for the expansion of women intelligence. If a man were to degrade a women for independency and flexibility , he would immediately receive sexist backlash.

Blake uses the chimney sweepers to expose how society ignores suffering. Reflect on a time when you noticed someone being treated unfairly or saw a situation that didn’t seem right. How does this experience connect to the emotions or ideas expressed in one or both poems?

One time at work a homeless man entered. He asked if there were any extra burgers or extra food we could spare. My coworker immediately was disrespectful and dismissive. The man looked defeated and began to walk out. Customers around began to stare. Just as he publicly embarrassed this man I publicly held him accountable. My boss agreed with me and before he could fully leave we gifted the man a burger. In the poem though the boy knew it was wrong yet accepted his fate and didn't attempt to stand up for himself. The man did the same thing until he was finally blessed.
